A senior official representing these temples has stated that they are getting ready for a week-long celebration in North America to mark the opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, 2019.
“We are fortunate to be a part of this phenomenon, and after centuries of waiting and battling, the temple of our dreams is beginning to take shape. In the US and Canada, people’s emotions are running very high. Everyone is excited to welcome Bhagwan Shri Ram in his mandir and shraddha (devotion) is growing, according to Tejal Shah of the Hindu Mandirs Empowerment Council (HMEC).
The highest authority representing more than 1,100 Hindu temples in the US is the Hindu Mandirs Empowerment Council (HMEC).
She stated that the celebrations, which will span a week and take place at both large and small temples in North America, will begin on January 15 and end on January 20 with a live broadcast of the inauguration of the Ram Temple from Ayodhya.
According to Shah, who has been leading the Hindu Mandirs Empowerment Council (HMEC), they anticipate thousands of Hindus attending the inauguration ceremony, given the response thus far.
“We will take a Sankalpa at the end of the event,” she declared. “It will be January 21 at 11 p.m. Eastern time for us. Thus, that evening, we shall all virtually unite to commemorate Bhagwan Shree Ram’s pran pratishta,” she declared.
Several dozen temples have signed up so far to participate in the curtain-raiser event on January 15, which will feature priests from all over North America chanting the Shri Ram Naam Sankirtan.
For the main events on January 21–22, more than half of the temples have signed up, according to her. “More than 100 mandirs register for the events every week,” she continued.
She said that priests would start the event on January 15 by chanting Ram Nam Sankirtan. The 108 names of Lord Rama that are used in the Valmiki Ramayana are chanted during Ram Nam Sankirtan.
She stated that renowned Atlantan singer Vinod Krushnan will perform a Bhajan recitation of some well-known contemporary Lord Rama Bhajans afterward.
Plans call for lighting up the temples, live streaming of the inauguration, conch shell blowing, and prasadam distribution on January 21.
According to Shah, Shree Ram Janam Bhumi Teerth Kshetra Trust will give a certificate of participation and “Prasad” to each participating temple.
To celebrate Pran Pratistha and the opening of the mandir at Shree Ram Janmaboomi in Ayodhya, we have put together an exhibit called “Ramayana Around the World.”
She said, “This 26-poster exhibit highlights the significance of Shree Ram and the Ramayana in various nations,” and mentioned that mandirs and neighborhood community centers could host the display.
